Megan is a senior, double majoring in Biochemistry as well as Molecular and Cellular Biology in addition to pursuing a minor in Spanish. Megan plans to attend medical school after graduation. In addition to WIMS, Megan is an instructor for MCB 181 lab and a member of the UA Quidditch team. In her free time, she enjoys reading, the occasional hike and relaxing with friends. Courtney is a graduate from the University of Arizona who has come back to study languages. She graduated through the Honors college with a BA in German studies and minors in Chinese Language, Biochemistry, and Health and Human Values. Currently she is working as an ED scribe at Tucson Medical Center and as an EMT for University EMS. Her future plans include medical school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon. During the summer of 2017 she spent three months in China studying Traditional Chinese Medicine. Lydia is a Senior in the Honors college, majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and doubling minoring in Music and Religious Studies. After graduation, she plans on going to graduate school to become a speech-language pathologist. In addition to WIMS, Lydia is a part of several other clubs, including the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. This fall she is a preceptor for SLHS 261 and a clinical assistant at the UA Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic in the SLHS building. In her free time, she enjoys playing music on the violin and guitar, watching The Office, and studying philosophy. This is her second year in WIMS and is excited to be on the executive board. Health Initiative Coordinator
Megan is a Senior majoring in Public Health with an emphasis in Epidemiology. She hopes to obtain her Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology after she finishes her undergraduate degree. Outside of being involved with WIMS, Megan is a volunteer for the Pima County Health Department and she is involved in Greek life here on campus. For her Honors Thesis she will be conducting research on skin cancer with the Banner Health Cancer Center. During her free time, Megan loves to swim, play tennis, and go hiking. Maddie is a Junior in the Honors college, majoring in Physiology and Gender & Women’s Studies, with plans of attending medical school after graduation. Maddie was previously the Pledge Educator for Alpha Epsilon Delta and completed the Patient Experience Internship through Banner during the Summer of 2018. She researches as a part of the Kuhn’s lab in the Immunobiology Department studying T cell receptors. In addition to WIMS, she is also currently a PATH mentor for the Honors college, the Health Advocate for Chi Omega and volunteers at Sister Jose Women’s Shelter. Allyson is a senior, double majoring in Physiology and Dance. Following graduation, Allyson hopes to pursue PA school and eventually serve in the Peace Corps. Allyson enjoys performing in the UA Dance performances at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre throughout the school year. She is additionally involved in an Angel Charity program, where she teaches children admitted to the Diamond's Children's Medical Center dance and exercise classes weekly, Stressbusters, Dancer's Collective on campus, and is a certified nursing assistant. Local Outreach Coordinator
Emma Potter is a junior, pursuing Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and in Veterinary Science. She hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, possibly with specialties in surgery and exotics. In her free time, she enjoys playing the trumpet with the UA Wind Ensemble and volunteering at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. To relax, Emma reads and hangs out with her pet kingsnake, Santiago. She joined WIMS in her second semester at the UA, and she has greatly enjoyed volunteering at various events, especially the science outreach events at local elementary schools. As such, she is extremely excited to contribute to WIMS in the form of coordinating outreach and other community involvement.
