Executive Board

President

Kelci Hodgkinson is a Senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology along with minoring in biochemistry and special education and rehabilitation. Kelci plans to attend PA school. She plans to become a pediatrician to work with kids, or work with kids with developmental disabilities. She is currently volunteering at SACASA and involved in a program on campus called Project Focus. She is also involved in research relating to genomic sequencing in regard to ALS. When she isn’t studying she likes to spend her free time painting, thrifting, or listening to true crime podcasts. She is also a dog mom to the wonderful honorary member of WIMS, her dog Zeus.

Vice President

Lauryn Terry is a junior majoring in Psychological Sciences and minoring in Biochemistry. After completing her undergrad she hopes to attend medical school and become an OB/ GYN. Outside of being WIMS’ Vice President she volunteers at Banner, hospice and is involved in an Alzheimer’s- Research Memory Lab here on campus. She is also a mentor in the Imagine Your Stem Future internship through the WISE program. When she is not studying she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and watching true crime documentaries! Lauryn is also a dog mom to her puppy Lulu.

Secretary

Sarah Wolff is a sophomore majoring in Physiology & Medical Sciences and minoring in Biochemistry and Spanish. After graduation, she hopes to attend medical school and become an OB/GYN. Along with being WIMS’ Secretary, Sarah is a PATH mentor, Pre-MD Ambassador, intern at Banner University, and a volunteer at Tucson Medical Center. She is also involved in research regarding Merkel cell carcinoma. When she isn’t studying she loves to crochet, read, and check out new coffee shops around Tucson.

Health Initiative Coordinator

Hi! I’m Rae, the Health Initiative coordinator for WIMS! I’m currently majoring in Psychological Sciences with a minor in Sociology. My current goals career-wise are to first go to medical school, then become a pediatric emergency medicine physician! As of right now I work in the THINK TANK Writing Center as a Peer Writing tutor, so if you ever need any help with writing you know where to find me! I love spending my free time looking at fashion collections, listening to music, baking, and going around town with friends. This is my first year on the WIMS board, so I’m super excited to plan all of our health initiative events!

Social Events Coordinator

Hey friends! My name is Arian piepho and I’m a junior double majoring in Neuroscience and Physiology and minoring in Business Finance. After graduation, she hopes to attend medical school for oncology or anesthesiology. Currently, she volunteers at banner hospital, z mansion, scribes, and works in a research lab! She loves spending her free time hiking, hanging out with friends, watching movies, and attending concerts and sports games! 


This is her second year on the WIMS board and she is so excited to continue helping members and growing the WIMS community! Social Media Coordinator

Isabele Mai is a senior majoring in MCB and minoring in Physiology & Medical Sciences and Biochemistry. After graduation, she hopes to attend medical (radiology or ophthalmology) or pharmacy school. She currently volunteers as a pharmacy technician in a geriatric community as well as at BUMC. She is also involved in lab research on the creation of biomimetic and nanopore sensors to spatially and chemically image cell topography/ morphology at high resolution. Outside of classes, she loves to volunteer, play piano, cook, get coffee/boba, travel, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Local Outreach Coordinator

Madelynn (Maddy) Mortenson is a junior majoring in Psychological Sciences and minoring in Pre-Law. She hopes to attend P.A. school and specialize in dermatology. She loves fashion and has a small fashion business on the side that keeps her busy! She volunteers at St. Mary’s and in an Alzheimer’s-Research Memory Lab here on campus. She is a cat mom to a kitty named June. When she’s not doing schoolwork or studying, she loves listening to true crime podcasts or documentaries! This is her second year on the WIMS board and she is super excited.

Project Coordinator

Lucie is a senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Emergency Medical Services, Physiology, and Art History. She is currently applying to nursing programs for after graduation and is excited to see where her career takes her! Outside of class, Lucie enjoys cooking and baking, hiking new trails around Tucson, visiting art museums, and eating great food with friends. STEM Outreach Coordinator

Abby LoCascio is a sophomore double majoring in Biology with a biomedical science emphasis and Molecular and Cellular Biology with a human health and genetics emphasis. Abby is currently deciding whether she wants to pursue an MD/PhD or a PhD, but definitely knows she wants to pursue a career in research that will help others. Abby is currently a student researcher on campus and has been an intern at a biotechnical pharmaceutical company for the past two summers. Her hobbies include drawing, crocheting, and trying to learn how to cook.

Susana is a junior majoring in Neuroscience and Cognitive science with an emphasis in cognition. After graduating, she plans to go to Physician Assistant School to specialize in Sports Medicine. Susana works as a front desk assistant at the U of A Health Sciences Library. Susana loves to spend her free time going to concerts, reading, and binging shows with friends.

My name is Mariah, I’m a sophomore majoring in pre-nursing and minoring in Spanish. I plan one day to become a nurse practitioner specialized in family care. I work as a patient care technician at Tucson Medical Center in the adult surgical unit. I love watching reality tv shows, going to hockey games, volunteering, and baking new recipes. This is my first year on the WIMS board and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Kayla is a junior double-majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology and double-minoring in Spanish and Biochemistry. She is currently interning with LifeSTEP, which is a behavioral health program focused on helping kids in the community, and is interning with the Spanish-Psychology department, where we do outreach into the Spanish-speaking community regarding mental health. She’s part of the Black Excellence Scholars program and the environmental fraternity Epsilon Eta. She hopes to be an oncologic genetic counselor in the future! She loves reading, watching movies, going out, and playing with her dog!

Michaela Ryan is a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry. Once completing her undergrad, she plans to go to medical school and become a Gastroenterologist or ER physician. She is involved in research through the University of Arizona’s Center for Innovation in Brain Science in the Brinton Lab and she is a CBC Ambassador and Peer Mentor. When she’s not studying or working in the lab, she enjoys weightlifting, reading, yoga, and hiking.

Hi I’m Chelsie! I am a junior majoring in Physiology and minoring in Psychology. After undergrad, I plan to go to medical school and possibly become a neurosurgeon. Outside of school, I am a medical scribe at some Banner outpatient clinics. In my free time, I love to read books, watch movies, journal, and play soccer.

Hey my name’s Lordess! I’m a junior studying Neuroscience and Biochemistry. I plan on attending medical after undergrad in hopes of becoming a neonatal surgeon. Outside of class I volunteer at SACASA as a sexual assault advocate and will begin working in the NET Lab this semester. In my free time I love to hangout with my family and friends, take pictures, thrift, listen to podcasts, and sleep.
